Fabulous French toast

My kids would never give me a minutes peace until my fabulous French toast was on the table! We always had it as a dinner but it’s good for breakfast too *lol*

What you’ll need:

1 loaf of French bread or about 10 slices of regular bread
6 eggs
1/8 c milk
Butter to cook in

Slice the bread into thick pieces cutting at an angle (see picture). Beat the eggs and milk together in a bowl that is big enough to place the bread into without bending it. Melt about 2 tablespoons butter on a griddle and let it heat up. Dip the bread slices into the egg mixture, turning over once to soak the other side. Don’t dip your bread until the griddle is ready or it will get too soggy. Lay the egg soaked bread slices about an inch apart on the griddle. Sprinkle cinnamon across the tops of the bread slices on the griddle. Cook about 2 minutes or until the side on the griddle is browned. Turn over. Press down lightly on each piece of toast. Cook an additional 2 minutes or until the second side is browned. Serve with syrup. Feeds 4.

yum! i also like to add a tiny dab of vanilla and 1 Tbs splenda into my mix! using cream instead of the milk really makes it rich too if you like that sort of thing!!! sometimes a little sprinkle of powdered sugar really makes the kids happy as well!
