Homemade hash browns

These hash browns take a little work in the grating department but they are so worth it!

What you’ll need:

About 4 potatoes
Garlic salt
Oil to fry in

Peel and wash your potatoes. Grate them on the regular side of your grater (the side people usually grate cheese on) over a bowl filled with water. You want to keep your grated potatoes in the water until you are ready to cook them or they will be discolored. Heat a small about of oil on a griddle. Squeeze the water out of a handful of grated potatoes and place the ‘pile’ on the griddle. Make sure you squeeze the water good or it may burn you when you put them on the hot griddle. Press down on each hash brown to flatten them. Sprinkle with garlic salt. Cook until the bottoms are brown and then turn them over and cook on that side until it’s brown. Place on a paper towel lined pan and put in a 200 degree oven while you cook the rest. Serve with any breakfast food. Makes about 15 - 20 hash browns.
