Fruity waffles

I used applesauce to make these waffles but you can use pureed apricots, peaches, pears, plums or strawberries. 

What you'll need:
  • 2 c flour
  • 2 Tbl sugar
  • 1 Tbl baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 3/4 c milk
  • 6 Tbl vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c pureed fruit or applesauce
Place all ingredients in a large bowl and stir until well combined and smooth. Allow batter to sit for 5 minutes. Pour 1/2 cup batter into a preheated waffle maker and cook to desired brownness (I use a Cuisinart® Classic Waffle Maker set on number 3). You can keep prepared waffles in a 200° oven while you are cooking the remaining waffles. Makes 8 waffles.
